KCI Technologies has promoted R. Eric Burgess, PE, and James D. Fitz Morris, PE, to vice president. Burgess oversees the Transportation Structures Practice in Rock Hill, S.C., while Fitz Morris leads the Contractor Services Practice out of Charlotte. Both joined KCI when the firm acquired South Carolina-based transportation engineering company Triplett-King & Associates in 2012. Burgess has directly contributed to the success and growth of the firm’s transportation structures efforts in the southeast. His technical expertise and innovative design solutions have led to the successful completion of many of KCI’s largest design-build projects.
Fitz Morris has nearly three decades of experience in bridge design, inspection and construction-phase contractor engineering services for transportation projects. He has designed or overseen the design of more than 200 bridge projects throughout the southeast. Fitz Morris has grown the contractor services client base expanding geographically outside of the Carolinas to complete projects in Virginia, New Jersey, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Texas and Washington, D.C.
