The prestigious EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards program recognizes the top entrepreneurs in areas such as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Seven regional winners were selected by a panel of independent judges, prior winners, CEOs, investors and business leaders. Regional winners are now eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur of the Year national program, announced in November. The categories and winners are: Technology services: Anne Wagner and Mike Wagner, co-founders of WaveStrike LLC, a Cybersecurity firm in Annapolis Junction. Emerging: Adam Benesch, co-founder of Union Craft Brewing in Baltimore. Technology products: Frederick Deese, co-founder of Visual Connections, an information technology consulting firm in Windsor Mill. Government contracting: Angie Lienert, president and CEO at the Columbia-based software firm IntelliGenesis LLC. Financial Services: Mary Ann Scully, chairman, president and CEO of Howard Bank. Consumer products and services: Scott Burger, president of the Americas Pandora Jewelry. Business services: Ashton Newhall, co-founder of the venture capital firm Greenspring Associates in Owings Mills.
