Louis S. Diggs Award Honors African-American Leaders in Baltimore County

Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz announced the 2017 recipients of The Louis S. Diggs Award on Feb. 27. The award is presented annually to individuals whose life work represents a commitment to the celebration of the African-American experience in Baltimore County. This year’s recipients were Dr. Freeman Hrabowski, President of University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC); Dr. Dallas Dance, Superintendent of Baltimore County Public Schools; and Delegate Adrienne Jones, Speaker Pro Tem in the Maryland House of Delegates. “I am immensely proud to present this year’s Diggs award to three very distinguished individuals who embody the true spirit of this honor,” says Executive Kamenetz. “Freeman Hrabowski, Dallas Dance and Adrienne Jones are outstanding leaders who make a difference in our County each and every day.”
