The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO)’s Peter T. Kjome, who was appointed President and CEO in December 2016 by an international committee, assumed his new duties on Feb. 1. “Peter is exactly the candidate we sought: a proven business leader who, as a classically trained musician, shares our commitment to artistic excellence,” says Hilary Miller, vice chairman of the board of directors. Kjome is a musician and a Kellogg School of Management graduate who left his previous orchestra with a legacy of growth.
Of his appointment, Kjome stated. “I look forward to working with Music Director Marin Alsop, the board of directors, musicians, staff, volunteers and the entire BSO family as we begin the orchestra’s second century.”
