5 Keys to Make the Most Out of 2017
2017 is here and the first month is gone. What are you going to do with the time you have left?
Have you set goals? Have you planned? What are you waiting for?
Where to start? How about with what makes you happy? If you start with your “Why” as your outcome, it helps get you juiced for the hard work (yes, success is hard work) you’re about to enjoy.
Let’s set your imagination on fire! What makes you the happiest? Either you have this in your head immediately, or you need some suggestions. How about more free time with your family and loved ones and more money to spend on the people you love?
Let’s get focused on your ultimate success in 2017 and the fastest way to get it. I will share five of my favorite keys to a spectacular year:

Envision Your Success.
For me, I envision how I will spend my ideal year. This can be more vitality (health and weight loss), more free time, more money. If you could be anyone, do anything, what would it be?
Know Your Outcome.
Now that you know what you want, write down exactly what you need to do to get it. Yes, plan your diet and exercise routine, go look up what your dream vacation, new car, remodeled kitchen, etc. costs and write it down. Those are your goals for 2017.
This helps you manage your time. If you stray, just get right back on the path where you fell off and reinforce your positive outcome and vision with even more details.
Know Your Strengths and Your Weaknesses.
If you know that chocolate is your weakness, don’t have it at your house. If you know you need to make cold calls, but find it challenging, time block your day so you knock it out first or get together with a work buddy and do it together. Also surround yourself with those who empower you.
This lets you focus on your true gifts. If you know you need a personal trainer, go get the best one you can find. If you want to improve your skills, find the best person at your company or in your industry and model their success.
Before you start writing how much money you want to make, how many deals you want to close, etc., start with envisioning your success. For me, I envision how I will spend my ideal year. That is broken into three parts: clients, time and money. For my clients, I envision helping entrepreneurs and their families, I see the smiles on their faces. My outcome is then a minimum of twofold – the number of people I will empower and the joy of being able to help them achieve their goals. Do you think I’ll work smarter to get to this awesome vision or to just close more deals? Exactly! I’m going to achieve the dreams and goals that simultaneously bring me the most joy and happiness and therefore I am more passionate about. Take a few minutes and do this for yourself now. Envision you and your ideal clients celebrating together on their big day. See their faces, their joy, their excitement and their gratitude to you for helping them achieve their dreams.
How I will spend my time is as important since it will determine my success at work and my enjoyment and fulfillment helping families achieve their dream of home ownership. I also envision how I will spend my personal time, whether that’s special time with my family, on vacation at the beach or donating my time to charity and my community and helping others make a difference. This makes me happy and focused on the future.
Now, we come to the money. How will you spend what you make? On your family? Your friends? Will you take everyone on vacation? Will you treat yourself to a new car? How will it feel to take your kids on that rollercoaster at their favorite theme park? How will it feel to be behind the wheel of your new Maybach? Imagine these dreams as if they were real and you are in the moment. Breathe in that wonderful relaxing smell of the ocean air and feel the warmth in your heart when your child smiles and giggles with glee.
By envisioning my successes, I link my emotions to my outcomes. Once my brain has imaged the success, it’s easier for me to find a way for my goals and dreams to become realities.
Now take your new monetary goal for 2017 and run your numbers and figure out what it will take for you to get there. The result is the number of people, businesses, clients, etc. you will help in 2017 to achieve your goals. Break this down by month and then by week. Check your goals weekly and reward yourself when you achieve them. Focus on building on your successes, not beating yourself up. Every little win counts and you need to feel it. That success will build momentum and propel you forward.
Once you make the transition to a service mentality and envision helping others, not only will you get more joy out of your work, but also your work will feel less like work and more like achievement. I95
