Michael H. Daney, resident partner in the Bel Air office of Godwin, Erlandson, Vernon and Daney, LLC, was named to the Board of Directors of the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Educational Association Board of Directors. (MWCEA) The MWCEA is dedicated to promoting education, communication and collegiality by bringing together the Maryland Workers’ Compensation community to provide a forum for employees, employers, insurers, program administrators, medical and rehabilitation providers and attorneys.
“The MWCEA’s goal is to provide education and support for the continuation and betterment of the Workers’ Compensation system to the benefit of all participants,” said Daney. “I am honored to be named to Board of Directors of MWCEA and look forward to actively participating as a Board Member. “I am serving on the Program Committee and will be a Moderating a panel on medical issues at the annual four day conference held in September.”
Daney, a resident of Darlington, is AV rated which means he has achieved the highest level of skill and integrity in the Maryland legal community. He was also recognized with the Leadership in Law Award and the John McGrain Memorial Award for outstanding service and leadership in the legal community. Daney has been actively involved in the Harford County community as one of the founders of the Darlington Dublin Community Association, in which he served as president for 2 years. From 2001 to 2007, he served as Chair of the Dublin Darlington Community Council, before stepping down to serve as the Assistant Zoning Hearing Examiner for the Harford County Council, a position he has held since 2007. He also serves as Chairman of the Harford County Personnel Advisory Board.
