More than 100 healthy lifestyle vendors are participating in the fifth annual Healthy Harford Day, which will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Vendors and activities will be located at 119 South Hays Street in Bel Air, across from the Bel Air Farmer’s Market.
Healthy Harford Day is a free event hosted by Healthy Harford, the non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health of Harford County residents. Last year’s event drew more than 2,000 area residents and this year’s expanded event is expected to draw an even larger crowd.
There will be resources relating to non-toxic living, healthy nutrition, stress relief and fun ways to get active. Other presentations and activities include: art for relaxation, plant-based superfood cooking demonstrations, free bike helmets and professional fittings, free massages and gardening tips for creating edible landscapes.
Attendees can now receive their flu vaccines on the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake HealthLink Van. Vaccinations are $20.00 for the flu shot of Flu Mist, $40.00 for the high dose version and free for those with Medicare B ID cards. Cash or check payment only.
Children’s entertainment and activities will be ongoing throughout the day.
Health Promotion Specialist Bari Klein says, “Healthy Harford Day attendance has grown annually since it began in 2011, and we are thrilled that Harford County residents continue to be so engaged in leading and learning about healthier lifestyles. The support of our sponsors makes this event possible and we are grateful to the local businesses and organizations that have stepped up once again to join us in our effort to make Harford County the healthiest community in Maryland.”
