“If you love what you do, and are passionate about it, then you have found your success,” says Lisa A. Limberger, owner of Healthcare’s Information Edge, LLC (HIE). For Limberger, she found her passion for business and computer science when attending the Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University, and since then she has managed to create a business that not only allows her to practice her skills, but also help people.
After working in the IT department of a manufacturer of government microwave devices, where she programmed CNC machines, robotics and all mainframes, Limberger realized she was missing the connection with individuals. When a former colleague recommended her to CIO at Peninsula Regional Medical Center for an IT position, she knew right away this would put her on course to find her mission connection. “It was the perfect blend of helping others by using systems to do so,” says Limberger. “The satisfaction of helping patients was the ultimate reward, and I was using all the skills in my toolbox to make a difference.”
After consulting for several years, Limberger founded HIE in 2003 to assist health care organizations implement and support IT applications. In the beginning HIE focused on McKesson applications, and over the years expanded to include all the major software vendors and provided management services. “The need for starting my own company was not just about personal growth, but rather a commitment I had towards my clients and my peers,” says Limberger.

According to Limberger, her main focus for the business is building relationships with clients. “It is important to me that we not only provide a quality consultant to assist with client needs but the right consultant, and I can only do that if I spend the time to get to really know their needs, personalities and project requirements,” says Limberger.
In 2013, she moved HIE to the Town of Bel Air, and while the firm services several Maryland organizations, HIE is known nationally for its top-notch consultants and commitment to their clients.
When not working, Limberger’s favorite thing is to spend time with her husband and three lovely, little girls. Family comes first, and the five of them enjoy traveling and taking care of their horses. I95
