Utilizing his 10-plus years of experience in the IT field, Emswiler formed Integrated Business Technologies 2 ½ years ago. Emswiler worked for several different companies and in different roles – IT support for a hospitality tech company, small business tech support and as a systems administrator for a hotel management company – and took a measured approach when he launched his own business. “I wanted to build a solid business foundation the first six months before going out and attracting clients. I was fortunate to have the support of my previous employer before venturing 100 percent on my own. I also benefitted greatly from attending the Harford Leadership Academy. It was an invaluable experience for me, and since I am not originally from Harford County, it gave me a whole new perspective on the County.”

Emswiler says he has utilized a few networking groups in the area and joined the Harford County Chamber of Commerce to meet potential new clients. “By far, though, the No. 1 way we attract new clients is through referrals of current clients. They are pleased with our work, so they pass along our name to their friends and other business owners they know,” he says.
