On March 18, Vanessa Milio, former President and CEO of the Harford County Chamber of Commerce, joined Business Volunteer Unlimited as the new Senior Director of Programs & Services. Business Volunteers Unlimited (BVU) is a Baltimore-based organization that connects people and businesses with nonprofits that need help. BVU directs individuals to appropriate volunteer opportunities, and helps companies invest in their employees by creating and managing successful corporate volunteer programs and developing civic leaders.
In her role at the Chamber of Commerce, Milio led the influential organization that provided business-development, networking and legislative programs for more than 750 members. She has been widely praised for her initiatives that engaged younger members and new businesses and created a more communicative and transparent organization. Prior to assuming her position with the Harford County Chamber, Milio held senior level positions with many of our region’s most important organizations. She has directed a nonprofit foundation, was the Founding Director of the Baltimore Police Athletic League, and created and managed programs for school-age children. She is an advisory board member for numerous economic development agencies throughout the area.
As part of the executive team at BVU, Milio will be responsible for providing leadership, management and strategic direction for BVU’s programs.
