The 1st Annual EXPO 2012, Showcasing Regional Businesses, sponsored by the Harford County Chamber of Commerce, will be held on April 4 at Mountain Christian Church, New Life Center from 9am until 3pm. Admission is free with a business card. Parking is free. Lunch fare will be available from an onsite caterer. Seminars will cost $15, and include a meal ticket. Space is limited for each one-hour session.
As the saying goes, when one door closes, another opens. Such is the case for the Harford County Chamber of Commerce annual business to business trade show. For many years the show was held at the Harford Community College Chesapeake Center. Due to renovations and construction, the Chamber began seeking a new home for the popular showcase of member businesses. While the Business Development Committee began the search process, Committee Chair Bob Bloom also asked the group to consider a complete revamping of the show, to update and reflect current business needs. “We felt that a new location was also an opportunity to reinvent and rebrand the show,” said Bloom. “There are so many diverse businesses represented in the membership, and with strong economic development in the region, we have many new members bringing great ideas and energy to the table.”
The result is a new location: Mountain Christian Church, New Life Center, which boats a large exhibit space, easy access off of Route 152, Mountain Road at I95, and ample parking. “This venue is spacious, modern and feels great,” says Keith Marchiano, Chair of the Search Committee. “With the easy access on Route 152 from I95, we are positioned to attract businesses throughout the region. The Center can accommodate 75 exhibitors, plus seminar space. This is a big plus, as one of our goals is to incorporate Sales and Marketing Seminars into the day.”
Vanessa Milio, CEO of the Chamber, is ready to put her mark on the event, and is reaching out to local and regional chambers to take advantage of this new opportunity. “We are reaching out to local and regional chambers and hope to have a broad audience that sees the strength of our member businesses while promoting new business relationships that strengthen the economics of the region. Attendees and exhibitors will connect with both large and small businesses face-to-face,” says Milio.
The Sales and Marketing Seminars will be conducted by professionals in their industries, sharing critical information. Two concurrent sessions are scheduled between 10am-11am and 1pm-2pm. Topics include: Legal Implications of Social Media, LinkedIn 101, Charging Up for Sales, Small Business PR and Marketing.
Marketing EXPO 2012 will include a promotional visit by Milio to ABC-2 News Maryland Morning, radio spots on WXCY-103.7FM, advertising and promotion in I95 BUSINESS, direct mail, social media and member-to-member promotion.
